What features release one will include?
In the very first release we will have a very innovative UI enabling full screen TV viewing functionality added with the Electronic Service Guide and channel bar.How do you make difference to other similar applications, for instance with Boxee?
Broadcast TV represents the majority of television consumption at every age group for years to come. Fuugo’s approach is to combine broadcast television with internet videos and social media, which none of the other applications do. In addition, Fuugo also target mobile devices, not living room computers.There are several solutions that support internet videos, how does Fuugo differ from these other solutions?
Most other internet video solutions have a collection of separate internet video services available; each at its own channel. In these solutions, the user has to first go into for example YouTube section of the application to view videos provided from that service. In addition, these competitive software solutions do not support broadcast television which still is the main channel for premium video content and entertainment for users at all age groups.Fuugo’s vision is that users should not really need to think about which internet video service the content is coming from. Instead, users are interested in the content itself, different content at different times. Fuugo provides users an access to different internet services at the same time by letting the user to specify her/his interest areas or use the context of the chosen television information from the broadcast TV channel.
How does this compare against Microsoft’s Windows Media Center?
Windows Media Center is more traditional way of using media on laptops and personal computers. It is not designed for smaller touch screen devices and it does not provide the level of usability Fuugo is targeted to as well as cannot provide the support for social media and interactivities.Which operating systems do you support at the moment? Is the functionality the same in different operating systems or platforms or target devices?
We currently support Windows (XP/Vista/7), Linux, Android, iPhone, iPod and iPad. Our application framework supports also Mac OS X, Windows CE, Windows Mobile, and Symbian. The solution is well scalable allowing the user experience to be the same on all devices, with the difference that smaller screens have less information on the screen at the same time than bigger screens.Do you provide necessary players and codecs for different streaming TV/video services? E.g. support for flash content, such as YouTube?
Yes, Fuugo will include all necessary components.How does the communication work when recommending a TV program?
Recommendations can be viewed in the particular Social Media service like any other messages of that service. So, actually your friends do not need to have Fuugo in order to see the recommendations you sent with Fuugo. If your friends are using Fuugo, they will see your recommendations automatically within the application.Appoint yourself to a Betatester!

In order to achieve that ambitious goal, we need your help. Be a beta tester and let us know how we have succeeded so far.
We will do the testing in phases starting with Fuugo™ Regular product and expanding later the testing to cover also Boosted and Nitro products as well. Unfortunately we have to limit the beta testers both numerically and geographically in order to provide enough support for testers and to handle the feedback efficiently.
Fuugo has been invited to participate in the ATSC-M/H trials in the US. We will start Beta-testing Fuugo in Europe after these trials and hope that the success of the US trials will accelerate our plans for Europe too. List of possible countries in first Beta testing phase: Finland, Sweden, Germany, France, Italy, UK, Netherlands and Spain
Note that first beta test phase will concentrate to broadcast TV and the broadcast TV (DVB-T) receiver is required. Fuugo™ supports universal Broadcast API BDA for Windows. List of tested devices is below. You may purchase suitable external receiver for example from these manufacturers (Hauppauge, Pinnacle, Dell, Onda, TBD)
